ANNOUNCEMENT
Canadian Motor Vehicle Arbitration Plan

An Important Update on CAMVAP

PDF

I am pleased to announce, on behalf of the CAMVAP Board of Directors, the appointment of Mathieu Pierre Dagonas as CAMVAP's new Executive Director, effective September 8, 2026. Mathieu brings more than 15 years of leadership experience working at the intersection of consumer protection, industry, government and regulators.

Most recently, he served as Executive Director of the Canadian Centre for Housing Rights (CCHR), providing organizational leadership on housing rights, public policy, and stakeholder relations. Prior to that, he was Director of Communications & Stakeholder Affairs at the Commission for Complaints for Telecom-television Services (CCTS), Canada's independent telecommunications complaints-handling and dispute-resolution organization.

At CCTS, Mathieu was responsible for relationships with telecommunications providers, consumer protection organizations, the CRTC and government. He led a team of 10 employees and established the organization's inaugural Public Affairs framework and Stakeholder Engagement Plan. This combination of experience gives Mathieu a particularly strong foundation for leading CAMVAP.

As you know, CAMVAP has an important mandate. For more than 25 years, the program has provided consumers with an independent and accessible mechanism for resolving disputes with participating vehicle manufacturers. Its success depends not only on the quality of its dispute-resolution process, but also on the trust and confidence of consumers, manufacturers and the broader automotive community.

As Executive Director, Mathieu will work with the Board and CAMVAP's stakeholders to build on that foundation. In the coming months, he will continue and accelerate the work under way to implement CAMVAP's new strategic plan. He will also be connecting with members and participating manufacturers to better understand your perspectives, priorities and experiences with the program. The Board and I look forward to working with Mathieu as CAMVAP begins this next chapter. Please join me in welcoming him to the organization.

Sincerely,

Ian Jack

Chair, Board of Directors
